I think in most of Australia now we can feel the weather starting to change; basically it’s getting cold!

This week we bring to you a delightfully warm drink that will help you achieve inner warmth and, in our opinion, is the best way to drink wine over the colder months. What is it? It’s mulled wine and the product we speak of is Pichler Tiroler Gluhwein’s Mulled Wine Syrup. (pronounced gloo-vine)

If you have heard of mulled wine you possibly associate it with the festive time of the year, well, no longer do we have to wait until Christmas to enjoy this spicy warm drink. Pichlers Tiroler Glühwein have made it very easy for us to host multiple people at a dinner party or just enjoy a quick nightcap with their Traditional Alpine Brew of Mulled Wine Syrup.

‘I had never heard of mulled wine let alone tried it but my gosh, what a tasty drink! As my first sip went down I could feel the warmth of the mulled wine slip down and into my belly and then to breath out and get a double dose of the warmth was amazing. It was convenient and easy to make, as I only had to mix together the syrup, water and the {red} wine, heat and drink. It is absolutely full of flavour, I think I could get a hint of cinnamon and clove among others I couldn’t put my finger on.’

Unexpectedly we got a beer drinkers’ point of view….

‘To be honest I am not a fan of wine, I am an avid beer drinker, but when I saw the mulled wine heating on the stove I have to say I was interested to try it. Now, I am writing this to admit, I mean review, the wine syrup because {for me} it was surprisingly enjoyable to consume. One thing I particularly liked about the taste of the Pichler Tiroler Gluhwein’s Mulled Wine Syrup in the warm wine was the evenly balanced taste of the spice and sweetness. There were lingering flavours on palette that left me wanted to taste more. Now that the nights are cold, I quite enjoyed having a warm alcoholic beverage as opposed to a cold beer on a Friday night!
My new saying, ‘I have a coldie with the boys and a warmie with the wife.’ 🙂

With delicate hints of cinnamon, the traditional syrup is based on original Austrian glühwein recipes, made with carefully selected spices and no artificial flavours. One bottle makes 4.5 litres of wonderful glühwein. Pichlers Tiroler Glühwein Syrups are great for larger parties & events catering because you can use a thermos or hot water urn to keep the mulled wine warm and on tap!

Pichlers Tiroler Glühwein will be at the Alpine Winter Festival again this year in Brisbane from the 8th June to the 1st July . Last year was such a success it’s been extended! The Pichlers Tiroler Glühwein website has fantastic Find Us page so if you are after a drink or to purchase the products in store, the Find Us page had it all sorted for you. (You may notice the brew bag variety on the website so stay tuned for our review of them!)
