Note: These recipes are to fill 500ml spray bottles.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Savvy Cleaning Spray
1 1/2 cups White Vinegar
1/2 cup Fairy Dish Washing Liquid
1 tsp. Laundry Powder
This cleaning spray cuts through grease and grime quickly and will clean just about anything. You can use it to clean your sink, benchtops and even the shower! Adding the laundry powder helps cut through the grease but it also helps it smell nice.
Window Cleaner
30ml Cloudy Ammonia
120ml Methylated Spirits or Isocol (Isopropyl Alcohol)
1 drop of Fairy Dish Washing Liquid
Fill remainder of the bottle with water
This is a great, streak free, window and mirror cleaner. You can also add a few drops of food colouring to help distinguish it from your other cleaners. This is your new Windex! Don’t forget to use really clean rags when cleaning glass or you might not get the results you’re looking for.
Fabric and Air Freshener
30ml Scented Fabric Softener
2 Tbs Bicarbonate of Soda
Fill remainder of the bottle with water
This is a lovely air freshener and also a lovely fabric spray. Try spraying it over your bed, curtains and upholstery for a fresh scent. Always shake well before each use. The bicarbonate of soda helps eliminate odours while the fabric softener is your own choice of scent.
I buy fabric softener in the concentrated form, much cheaper.
Bleach Cleaner
60ml Bleach
1 tsp Laundry Powder
Fill remainder of the bottle with water
A good general bleach product for all surfaces you’d normally use bleach on.
The Ultimate Multi Purpose Cleaner
150ml Methylated Spirits or Isocol (Isopropyl Alcohol)
100ml White Vinegar
1 tsp Laundry Powder
1 tsp Cloudy Ammonia
2 drops Essential Oil
Fill remainder of the bottle with water
This really is the only multi purpose cleaner you’ll use again once you try it. It cleans easily and leaves a beautiful shine. You can also add essential oils like tea tree and lavender to make it smell fresh and clean.
WARNING: Never MIX ammonia and bleach! The fumes can be extremely hazardous to your health!
