Deliciously Easy Homemade Fabric Softener

Making your own cleaning products not only saves you heaps of money but you get to make something that is safer for your family to use and customed to the scents you love!
As with any of our cleaning recipes it is up to you to determine if they are safe to use with your family, as some people are sensitive to different ingredients.

Ingredients: (I got them all from Woolworths)

Scent Booster – I used Purex crystals or you could use 1 teaspoon of essential oil
1 Cup Bicarbonate of Soda
6 cups white vinegar

Add about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of the scent booster to one cup of hot tap water and stir. Let this sit on the benchtop while you continue with the other ingredients. You can stir it occasionally to help it dissolve.

Add 1 cup of bicarbonate of soda to a large bowl then slowly add the 6 cups of white vinegar, a little at a time.

The vinegar will cause it to bubble up, so make sure your bowl is big enough and you add the vinegar slowly.

Now stir the mixture until almost dissolved. Some will settle on the bottom but don’t worry about that.

Add the scent booster to the vinegar mix and stir well. Dispense into plastic bottles and shake to combine further. Some will settle on the bottom but simply shake before use.

Add ½ a cup of your fabric softener to the rinse dispenser of your washing machine and tell me what you think!
