1 cup Borax
1 cup Washing Soda
1 cup Liquid Castile Soap
10-15 drops Essential Oil
17 cups of water
In a large saucepan, bring 6 cups of water to a slight boil. Once the water begins to boil, turn off the heat and stir in the Borax and Washing Soda. Stir to completely dissolve.
In a large bucket combine the remaining 11 cups of water and the Liquid Castile Soap with the essential oils.
Now pour into this the borax and washing soda mixture and stir well. Now it’s time to pour it into the containers of your choice. Decanting just makes it easier to use and you can store the rest out of sight.
This mixture will set into a gel and you simply use about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup per load of laundry. if the mixture seperates simply shake to combine before using.
Instead of adding essential oils to this mixture I add about 6 drops to the rinse compartment of my machine with white vinegar to give my washing a nice scent when drying.
