These economical dishwasher tablets are easy to make and work just as good as the commercial varieties but wont leave any chemical residue on your dishes.
1 cup Borax
1 cup Washing Soda
3/4 cup Epsom Salts
Zest and juice of 1 fresh large lemon
Combine all dry ingredients, including lemon zest in a large mixing bowl and then add the lemon juice slowly while mixing with your hand. The mixture should hold together somewhat when combined.
Fill ice cube moulds about 3/4 fill and leave to dry in a warm place for a day or two.
When dry simply remove from the moulds and store in an airtight container.
1/2 Cup of Bicarbonate of Soda
1/2 Cup of Borax
1/2 Cup of Washing Soda
1/2 Cup of Citric Acid
1/2 Cup of Sea Salt
15 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil
15 Drops of Lemon Essential Oil
1/4 Cup of Water
Ice Cube Tray or small moulds
In a bowl combine all the ingredients together well to incorporate with the essential oils. When mixed thoroughly start pouring in a little of the water and mixing well until you can form a soft ball of mixture in your hands. Don’t overdo the water or they will not dry out properly.
Now press the mixture into your ice cube tray or moulds making sure you press out any air pockets.
Let them dry for a day or two, turn out and store in a dry container.
