2/3 cup Fairy dish detergent
2/3 cup ammonia
6 tbls bicarbonate of soda
2 cups warm water
- Combine all the ingredients in a medium bowl and then, using a funnel, pour into a spray bottle. Recycle an old spray bottle if you can.
- To use, shake the bottle well because the bicarbonate of soda can settle on the bottom. Spray as you normally would on a stain then launder as usual. We don’t recommend using this spray when washing with bleach as ammonia and bleach together are highly toxic.
This is another easy recipe that works!
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup liquid castile soap
1/4 cup glycerine
2 tablespoons bicarbonate of soda
10-15 drops lemon essential oil
Place all of the ingredients into a glass spray bottle; I say glass because sometimes essential oils weaken plastic spray bottles. If you only have a plastic bottle then just omit the essential oil. Then shake to combine the ingredients. Spray directly onto any stains and leave for about 30 minutes or an hour for stubborn stains before washing as normal. You can rub the mixture into the stain for better penetration.
