fingerscrossedThese recipes have been around virtually since bicarbonate of soda was discovered! They really do work but they do take time for your hair and scalp to get used to so persevere for results. Once you have the mixtures to suit your hair you’ll never look back.

Shampoo recipe
• 1 cup warm water
• 1 tablespoon bicarbonate of soda

Simply mix the bicarbonate of soda into the water and stir until dissolved. Pour over wet hair and massage  into your hair and scalp. If you have greasy hair, concentrate your efforts in the oiliest areas such as the hairline and crown.

If you have long or thick hair, double or triple the recipe; just keep the ratio the same.

When you’re done scrubbing, thoroughly rinse your hair.

Conditioner recipe
• 1 cup warm water
• 1 to 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Mix both ingredients and pour over freshly shampooed and rinsed hair. Massage into your scalp and leave for a few moments before rinsing. Use 1 tablespoon vinegar if you have oily hair, 2 tablespoons if you have dry hair.
